Experience patients on their
journey to better vision

Would you like to be able to see really well again? This is often easier than you think. Many before you have already gone this way and are now enjoying a significantly higher quality of life. Here you can accompany patients with different vision disorders on their journey to better vision and see for yourself.

PATIENT  JOURNEY #5: LAMPROS KARIOTOGLOU
HYPEROPIA AND PRESBYOPIA

Lampros Kariotoglou, 68 years old from Athens, has been an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon for over 30 years. At the age of 35, he noticed the first signs of hyperopia. He could not see clearly either near or far and no glasses could fulfil his visual needs, which frustrated him greatly. As he got older, presbyopia set in and things got even worse. He finally decided to have Clear Lens Exchange surgery with  ACUNEX Vario and ACUNEX Variomax IOL to become spectacle independent. The visual result exceeded his expectations: He can see clearly without glasses – and not just well, but excellently, from near to far.

PATIENT JOURNEY #4: DR. RUBEN AQUINO
CATARACT & PRESBYOPIA | A LONG-TERM REPORT AFTER 9 YEARS
Dr. Ruben Aquino is now 73 years old. He is a practicing eye surgeon in his own clinic. Nine years ago, he noticed a change during his surgical procedures. His vision was deteriorating due to the onset of cataracts. Eye surgery was and is Ruben`s life and poorer vision was unacceptable for him.

He wanted to have surgery on both eyes – and with high expectations of the visual outcome. So he had an EDOF lens and a multifocal intraocular lens implanted. Now, 9 years after the surgery, Ruben sees like a 30-year-old, with seamless vision from near to far.

PATIENT JOURNEY #3: Ralf Konszack
GRAUER STAR (CATARACT)

Enough is enough... Ralf (60+) knows that he suffers from cataracts. So far, putting up with glasses was going quite well. But a nighttime car ride during rainy weather – a key moment – where Ralf could no longer see anything at all was the actual trigger to start his journey for better vision and get cataract surgery done. He opted for a new enhanced monofocal intraocular lens: ACUNEX Quantum. And his expectations were 100% met.

PATIENT JOURNEY #2: BRIAN HAMILTON
CATARACT

Brian Hamilton (80+) from UK has the classic symptoms of people who have cataract. Low contrast vision, dull colour perception. Driving his beloved car or playing golf pre-surgery resemble rather gambling arts than hobbies performed by his skills. He decided to do something about his eye condition. After the implantation with the LENTIS Comfort – an EDOF IOL with advanced segmented optics – he is very grateful to have been given back his clear vision.
